The mindset of many is that merely succeeding is not enough; they feel the need to defeat others in the process. Even if I have achieved a great job, passed an exam, or received recognition, when someone else attains the same, it often disturbs my peace of mind. It is not just jealousy; the thought that ‘he didn’t fall behind me’ or ‘I couldn’t beat him’ leads to dissatisfaction. Believing that you can only win by defeating others is a narrow and flawed perspective.
However there is another way to win – one that doesn’t require putting others down. In fact, some people may often belittle us or underestimate our abilities. They may say, ‘Oh, he can’t do it’ or ‘He won’t be able to manage that.’ These are the same people who set limits on our potential and skills. The way to overcome this is by proving them wrong. By accomplishing what they thought was impossible, we show them that we are capable. This action opens new paths for us toward success.
At times some people wish to see us defeated, sad, or discouraged. In these situations, the best response is to live happily and be joyful in front of them. The happiness and success we display will, in turn, defeat their negativity.
There are also people who have betrayed us or spread false rumors about us. It may not always be possible to stop these rumors or clear up misunderstandings. However, the best way to handle such situations is to not hold onto resentment or anger. Understanding that their jealousy or intolerance is what fuels their actions can help us rise above their attempts to bring us down. Ultimately, we are the ones who will emerge victorious in these situations.
If there comes a moment where we can offer help to someone who has wronged us, we should do so without hesitation. By helping them in such a circumstance, we not only show our strength of character but also turn their failure into our success. This act of kindness becomes our victory, as we rise above their negativity and come out stronger, leaving behind feelings of vengeance.
In life, success isn’t defined by defeating others. True success is when we rise above challenges, maintain our integrity, and achieve our goals with dignity, all while helping others along the way. It is in this way that we become the ultimate victors.
From this perspective, life seems to be a human invention. We shape it. We give it a form. Life is like passing the baton in a relay race-humans will always exist, but life itself will never remain the same.
We are not living the same life that existed forty years ago. The children being born today will experience an even more different world. Just as we marvel at the world a century ago, future generations will look back at our time with wonder.
Life is constantly changing. In this ever-evolving journey, try to make each passing moment as joyful and peaceful as possible.
