Vision and mission are intertwined. A mission exists only when there is a vision. One takes on a mission because they possess a vision. This interdependence highlights their importance.
At the beginning of a new year, everyone must ask themselves:
Do I have a vision?
Am I working in alignment with that vision?
Vision, often described as a perspective, is essentially the dream and hope one has for the future. Every individual should cultivate dreams and perspectives that align with their circumstances and abilities. Those with vision strive to realize their personal, professional, and creative aspirations. They clearly set goals for what they want to become and work towards it.
For example, someone who dreams of becoming an actor must seek and utilize opportunities to sharpen their innate talents. Aspiring writers should immerse themselves in the world of books, while athletes must develop the physical endurance required for their goals.
Once the vision is understood, the mission begins. The mission is born when one desires to actualize their vision through action. If someone dreams of achieving something by 2026 or 2027, their efforts toward that goal become the mission.
Examples include securing a better job, owning a home, or advancing in education. All of these represent one’s vision. Success is achieved when action aligns with vision.
However, some may possess vision but lack the willingness to embark on the mission. A lack of confidence, laziness, or fear of taking risks may hold them back, preventing success. Merely dreaming is insufficient without action.
If someone envisions a stable family life by 2026, they must start organizing their life accordingly. Some plans need immediate action, while others require long-term strategies. A student in high school should begin shaping their vision regarding their future course, career, and ambitions, seeking guidance from experienced individuals. Having a goal now enables practical planning for the future.
Building a goal can be compared to constructing a house. No house rises from emptiness or magic. Careful planning from the ground up, including estimates, blueprints, and approvals, leads to its completion. Without a clear understanding of finances, starting an overly ambitious project might lead to failure or humiliation.
Likewise, dreaming is essential but must be grounded in reality. Realistic dreams have the potential to materialize.
To realize dreams, one must design plans and strive to execute them. Success is the inevitable result of this process.
